2025 Year in Review: By the Numbers, On the Ground & Ready for 2026

2025 Year in Review: By the Numbers, On the Ground & Ready for 2026
As we close the book on 2025, we aren’t just looking at code commits or feature lists. We are looking at the sweat, mud, and hours you put into your dogs. 2025 was the year DogBase transformed from a logging tool into a comprehensive command center for K9 operations—and the community responded in a massive way.
Here is a look at the milestones we hit, the places we went, and the roadmap for where we are taking you in 2026.
2025 By The Numbers: The Work You Put In
Before we talk about features, let’s talk about dedication. In 2025, DogBase users didn’t just download an app; they went to work.
• Over 231,400 minutes Hours Logged: of tracking, trailing, and detection work documented in the platform.
• Hundreds of Teams: From Search and Rescue units in the American Midwest to police K9 units in Europe, the DogBase family grew to support hundreds of teams globally.
• Built for the Grind: While most apps fight for seconds of attention, DogBase sessions regularly last over an hour. That’s proof the platform is being used exactly where it belongs—in the field during deep training sessions, not just at a desk.
Product Milestones: v2.0 and The Health Center
This year delivered our most significant technical leaps since our founding.
🚀 The Launch of DogBase Teams v2.0
In mid-2025, we released our "Ultimate Upgrade." We completely rebuilt the platform infrastructure, migrating to Firebase for speed and stability. Most importantly, we introduced the Custom Training Type Builder. This finally allowed handlers to break free from "one-size-fits-all" logging and design forms with custom fields, scoring, and objectives that match their specific agency’s workflow.
⚡ Beyond Training: The Launch of Custom Actions
While training is the core of what we do, we know a K9’s day includes much more. In v2.0, we introduced Custom Action Types. This allows handlers to log and track deployment-ready events—like maintenance, vet visits, or operational deployments—without cluttering their training logs. Just like our training builder, Actions are fully customizable, letting you define the specific widgets and data points that matter to your mission.
🔐 Privacy & Precision: Record Visibility & Access Control
As teams grow, data security becomes paramount. In v2.2.0, we introduced granular Record Visibility & Access Control. Admins can now toggle visibility settings between All, Team, or Own records. Whether you are a solo handler who only needs to see your own dogs or a department head overseeing multiple units, you now have total control over who sees what—ensuring sensitive operational data stays in the right hands.
⏰ Never Miss a Beat: Biannual Reminders & UI Polish
We closed out 2025 by making the platform even smarter. With the release of v2.3.6, we introduced Biannual Reminders, specifically designed for those critical semi-annual certifications and health checks. Alongside this, we delivered a major UI Polish, redesigning modals for AI summaries and PDF exports to ensure that your reports look as professional as the work you do in the field.
❤️ Introducing The Health Center
2025 also marked the official launch of the DogBase Health Center. We recognized that a dog’s performance starts with their well-being. Throughout the year (specifically in releases v2.2.3 and v2.2.4), we expanded this suite to allow handlers to:
• Manage vaccinations and medications with brand-specific data.
• Track Weight Management to ensure dogs remain operationally fit.
• Maintain clean records with new deletion and editing capabilities for outdated medical notes.
On The Ground: From Oklahoma to Estonia
We believe the best software is built by listening to handlers face-to-face. 2025 was a year of global connection for our team.
• Estonia Defence Week: A personal highlight for us—our founder Almog took the stage with his K9 partner, Echo, at Estonia Defence Week, demonstrating the future of K9 tech alongside a working dog in front of defense leaders.
• CSAR 2025 (Guthrie, Oklahoma): In October, we were boots-on-the-ground with some of the nation's most dedicated Search and Rescue teams. Watching handlers execute wide-area searches and live-find drills reinforced exactly why we build these tools.

• Industry Recognition: We presented on AI’s role in training at the 11th Annual International Police K-9 Conference and were featured on the K9’s Talking Scents podcast with Cameron Ford.

• Looking Ahead: We closed the year by being selected as a Top 30 Startup to pitch at sTARTUp Day 2026, validating the importance of PetTech and working dog technology on the global startup stage.
2026 Roadmap: Depth, Efficiency, and Intelligence
If 2025 was about building a robust foundation and gaining community trust, 2026 is about optimizing your workflow. We are focusing on advanced file management, native mobile performance, and harnessing AI to automate your reporting.
Here is what we have planned for the year ahead:
📂 Advanced File System & Attachments
We are overhauling how you handle media and documents. While previous versions introduced basic uploads, 2026 will bring a comprehensive folder system. You will be able to create and organize folders specifically for Dogs and Users, keeping certifications, logs, and media perfectly structured.
• Health Center Uploads: We are expanding this system to the Health Center, allowing you to attach vet records, X-rays, and lab results directly to a dog's health profile.
📱 New Native Mobile App
While our mobile web experience improved significantly in 2025 with better responsivity, field operations require more. In 2026, we will launch a fully native mobile app. This will offer superior performance, offline capabilities, and an experience optimized specifically for handheld use during deployments.
⚡ Workflow Speed: Drafts & Duplicates
We are introducing two highly requested features to save you time:
• Duplicate: Quickly copy previous Trainings and Actions to log repetitive sessions without starting from scratch.
• Draft Mode: Start logging a session or action and save it as a Draft to finish later, ensuring you never lose data when duty calls.
🧩 Advanced Custom Widgets
Building on the success of the Training Type Builder, we are releasing Advanced Custom Widgets. These new selectors will allow you to pull dynamic data into your forms—letting you select specific dogs, teams, users, and other entities directly within your custom logs.
🤖 Weekly & Monthly AI Reports
We are taking our AI capabilities to the next level. In addition to our current session summarization, we will introduce Weekly and Monthly AI Reports. These automated insights will analyze your Actions and Training data over time, highlighting trends and progress without manual calculation.
📦 Inventory System & Sharing
To round out the platform, we are building an Inventory System to help teams track equipment and assets. We are also adding new Sharing Features, making it easier to share records and success stories with stakeholders outside your immediate team.
Ready for the Future?
Countless trails run. One mission. 2025 proved that the right tools can change how we manage K9 performance. In 2026, we are doubling down on that promise.
Train hard. Track smart. Stay safe.
