Details

The LEO Patrol Detector Dog Handler Course from American K9 Interdiction is an intensive multi-week program that equips law enforcement handlers and their dogs with the full range of patrol and detection capabilities needed for operational deployment. The course combines foundational skill-building with realistic, scenario-based application.

Handlers develop proficiency across detection (narcotics or other target odors) and patrol work, with training methods that have consistently produced street-ready teams. The program is designed for working law enforcement officers assigned to or preparing to take on K9 duties, and culminates in teams prepared to test for certification.
