Details

Sharpen your scent detection skills and put your training to the test at this official National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) Odor Recognition Test. The ORT is the cornerstone assessment in the sport of K9 Nose Work, where each team demonstrates that the dog can recognize and indicate the target odors that form the basis of all competition trials.

Modeled after real-life detection work, NACSW events are held in varied environments and conditions, so teams should be prepared for a range of surfaces and weather. Passing all odors earns the ORT title, an eligibility requirement for entering NACSW trials. If you are not competing, organizers warmly welcome volunteers. Check-in begins in the afternoon and exact run times are emailed to participants ahead of the date.
